Their fiscal year 2026 budget is already 5 months late. A long govt shutdown already happened. Last week The Cowardly Speaker passed appropriations bills and then sent the House home until Feb 3rd, making it impossible for Senate to make changes this week. It's recklessness beyond words.

Folks need to understand that at current rates it will take ICE 11+ years of this kind of sustained activity to remove all the undocumented immigrants in the US. That what Trump-Vance-Miller are doing is putting into place is a permanent national terror force that will last for at least a decade.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."

I can’t believe they are trying to make this argument. It’s so weird and desperate. It’s tantamount to if you walk down the street with a legal concealed firearm the state would be justified to shoot ten bullets into your back at point blank range AFTER taking the gun away.
