one of the most transformative things I was ever taught was by my professor Kandice Chuh & she told me every time I make a claim & then write “but”—to see if the “but” could actually be an “and.” if both things could be true.

it changed everything about how I write & think.

I think it's fascinating to watch it from a) an older person's perspective (I'm now closer to the parents' age than the young adults) and of course b) from a 2025 perspective...

I think that House is one of the most unforgettable movies I have ever seen. It absolutely stays with you. I'm fairly sure I didn't fully understand it, but I recommend it unreservedly to anyone who cares about horror.

LAST HOUSE is obviously legendary but I still think it somehow manages to get overlooked as one of the most impactful and socially incisive horror films of the 1970s, deserving of the same appreciation and status as TEXAS CHAIN SAW #filmsky
