When you were talking about improvements to the concourse, presumably you mean offering supporters their choice of the Escape to the Country archive?

Yep, and I like the Athletic putting out fan written analysis, so I have no problem with the bias involved. It’s just the level of spin is ludicrous - I can imagine you or James M would be embarrassed to make such a claim!

I quite like the club specific reporting. General football journalists’ analysis of Arsenal (with maybe the exceptions of Daniel Storey and Miguel Delaney) is so shallow. So I have no problem with James Pearce doing an optimistic piece on Liverpool. But that reasoning was just ridiculous!

To be honest, I don’t even mind the bias reporting - he’s a Liverpool fan on the Liverpool section for the Athletic. I like the Arsenal fan writers on the Athletic. But those paragraphs are such a stretch!

The reason Palace and Chelsea are in the top eight is because they beat Liverpool! If we had lost to United and Newcastle, they would be in the top eight!

What an absolutely incredible framing of the respective starts to the season!!
For a start, just look at the fixtures Liverpool have already played. In their opening seven Premier League matches, Slot's side have already faced five clubs who currently sit in the top eight. They are actually a point better off when you compare their results so far this term to the corresponding games last season.
Arsenal, who have been installed as title favourites after taking over at the top, have only faced two of the current top eight - taking just one point out of a possible six from matches against Liverpool and Manchester City.

So Hulk Hogan, why are you a great candidate for the Administrative Assistant position?

Spent a lot of the evening thinking which sitcom characters would vote Reform. So far:
Chris Finch (an active party member)
Basil Fawlty (ditto)
Gareth Keenan
Everyone in Gavin and Stacey, except maybe Gavin
Jay from the Inbetweeners
Jay’s dad
David Brent, but he would only tell Finchy and Gareth

Seriously though, it’s 2025. Can we move away from this horrible, outdated trope? It’s demeaning and dehumanising. It’s not just this book, you see it everywhere - the childless women who you can’t trust
jkaffash.bsky.social
Obviously one of the evil childless women, who were worthless because they don’t have kids, was parasitically latching on to the family because she had no life of her own, while the other was carefree and trying to snatch the innocent husband away from his loving family because she has no kids

Just finished reading a book where thankfully the two evil single 40 something childless women got their comeuppance. It was a happy ending as everything worked out for the husband, who stayed away from home (and had an affair) while his post natal depressed wife brought up their newborn

Yep, although we do seem to be favourites! A big change from a week ago when people said it was a procession for Liverpool. That only shows how quickly things change!

Their reasoning for our weakness seemed pretty… weak. “Gyökeres isn’t scoring” seems rather ok compared with our rivals’ weaknesses

I’m not doubting Ian Rush’s footballing knowledge, but being good enough for Accrington Stanley is still very good. It puts you in the top 1,000 or so players in England - or about 0.0003% of the male population. You’re still making a good living out of playing football

Will someone please think of Martin Samuels.
Utter rubbish

More importantly, we are up on the season we hit 89 points
jkaffash.bsky.social
I’ll be honest, it feels like he’s not quite up to the level. But he’s fine as back up striker to Havertz, which is what he is

We’ve had 15 attempts on goal

Definitely agree on the reports, but I’d say a lot of the tasks listed and ones that have been dumped on journalists in recent years, taking away our time to do actual reporting. Personally, I wouldn’t use AI for these, but let’s not kid ourselves these are tasks that need pure journalism
