Like a lot of people, really grieving the loss of Diane Keaton. One of my favorite performances from her was a semi-recent romantic comedy that’s oddly been kinda forgotten. Check out “Morning Glory” to see her rapping with 50 Cent.

Now up is @jessicafortexas.bsky.social. She is giving a warning about things we could lose but also notes “our community does not back down.” Also said tonight should be a call to action for every ally who cares about Texas or the country to get involved.

We heard a rousing speech from @nathanfortexas.bsky.social about the need to embrace compassion for all Texans. He also gave a legal background for how targeting one community never ends with just one group.

I am here for the landmark Dallas dinner of @lambdalegal.org at Union Station. Texas is unfortunately the epicenter of so many attacks on the LGBTQ+ community.

In Opinion | “There may be no two politicians further apart on the ideological spectrum” than Donald Trump and Zohran Mamdani, writes Michael Hirschorn. “But the appeal they make to voters, and the way voters respond, is uncannily similar.”

ICE left David, a 17-year-old boy, stranded on the side of Interstate 20 after pulling over his immigrant father, Hector, in Mississippi.

David began running in the scorching sun after the car and watched as it disappeared from sight—soon headed to a Louisiana ICE prison.

Here's their story.

The No Kings protests that took place throughout Texas last June — and there were over sixty — were all peaceful and drew out thousands. They are clearly all repeating talking points meant to suppress mass protest and resistance.
atrupar.com
Sen. Roger Marshall: "October 18 is when the protest gets here. This will be a Soros paid-for protest for his professional protesters. The agitators show up. We'll have to get the National Guard out. Hopefully it will be peaceful. I doubt it."

The Louisiana lawsuit also cites the Comstock Act as a reason to strike down the FDA's telemedicine rules for abortion medication. Many abortion opponents have cited the 1873 law as a way to restrict abortion access.

"Most Republican senators on Thursday sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration calling for restrictions on abortion pills, in response to the agency’s approval of a new generic version of mifepristone."
Nearly All GOP Senators Urge FDA to Restrict Abortion Pills
The senators are asking the FDA to suspend its approval of generic mifepristone, which would heavily restrict access to abortion pills nationwide.

Okay I finally had a chance to watch #RHOP. Stacey is perfect. So wacky, so delusional, just top tier. I love this possible extraterrestrial so much.

It is tough out there for a lot of establishment media properties so I tend to give some leeway for this stuff. But it is funny that Adrienne warranted her own story!

He goes from talking about potentially stopping Austin's "No Kings" protest to rambling about the rigged elections. If somebody in my life was speaking this incoherently, I'd be deeply concerned.

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

Being all-in for immigration was actually a thing that defined Texas Republicans for a long time. Obviously, that is not the case any more.

I watched the new "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and hoo boy I thought that was a misfire. Had no idea on how to strike the right tone; clunky dialogue; and just... boring. Now, I did think Jennifer Love Hewitt was great, so that's something. Our Texas scream queen always delivers.
