On this day in 1956, as Soviet tanks took the streets of Budapest, the brave people of Hungary rose up in defiance of oppression and foreign domination.

As Hungary remembers the heroes of the 1956 Revolution, let us also commemorate those who fight today for their freedom and their independence.🇭🇺
Many thanks to our Egyptian hosts at the Aswan Forum, for creating excellent conditions for constructive dialogue with many relevant interlocutors on the Sahel. Among them, Ministers Abdelatty (Egypt), Diop (Mali) and Traore (Burkina Faso)

Honored to have taken part in the Aqaba Process meeting today in Rome, which had West Africa and the Sahel on the spotlight. Celebrating 10 years in 2025, this initiative of King Abdullah II of Jordan continues to mobilize the international community around the hard questions of our time. 🇯🇴🇮🇹🇪🇺
The Holy See 🇻🇦 plays a role in the Sahel - and it will continue to do so. Enriching exchange with Archbishop Paul Gallagher on the importance of staying engaged in the region through active dialogue and concrete support to the local populations.
The informational space in the Sahel is a major element of crisis but also of hope. Glad to have joined and contributed to such a great discussion on the topic, organized by the Danish Presidency of the EU @eu2025dk.bsky.social 🇩🇰, Fondation Hirondelle, and International Media Support.

Enormously sad to learn of the death of Catarina Albuquerque. She was a rare and luminous person who used all her energies to give us a better world, defending human rights and above all as world leader for the right to water and sanitation. She made all the difference. Thank you Catarina.
Obrigado Catarina.
In beautiful Budapest for very useful meetings on the Sahel with Minister of Defence Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, National Security Advisor Marcell Biró and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Tristan Azbej. And a very stimulating discussion with future diplomats at the Diplomatic Academy.

Starting the day at the @warsawforum.bsky.social with great news from Moldova 🇲🇩 which has very very decisively chosen the European path, despite blatant and massive attempts to falsify the elections, destabilize the country and turn it against Europe.
