Trump and Silwa have conviced me that we dont so much need a mostly symbolic president as we need an elected Chief Jester. The people clearly demand an elected official who's kind of fun and off the wall, we should quarantine our most insane politicians in a role that has little real power

I had a light on moment, watching a bunch of conservative acquantances on Facebook, that this was the first mass/public shooting that they actually processed as other people dying.

Sandy Hook, Giffords, Uvalde, all washed off them like water off a ducks back, but Kirk made them feel something

The two biggest chapters in my state (Denver and Colorado Springs) had nothing on their social media about the rallies. The Denver chapter did have a post up about their reading club, where this month theyre reading.....Lenin.

We absolutely do overemphasize the Ancient Greeks in philosophy. But, it is kind of hard not to do when you can take a newcomer, point them at Plato and Aristotle, and say, "Thats kind of our whole deal right there, no one alive is really doing anything that different from them."

I think it honestly works well. Skein of a plot makes it go down easier than it should, the reasoning is very gradual and well explained. It also avoids the main pitfall of a lot of Intro to Phil books, which is that you cant really cram any self improvement message into it.
