Not really. Silly government believing that they could do better than a successful operation via OLR.
They promised double the OLR’s premiums, and then delivered less than OLR’s premiums. Government potentially lost out to the tune of £150m I think it was, compared to if they had kept to status quo.
Basically, bid came too late for Crystal Palace (“Palace is also acceptable, but not “Crystal”) to get an adequate replacement in.

Some rumours we’ll get Ake, which will probably be direct replacement for Guehi.

I can understand the ethical side to an extent. I wasn’t happy when he did that.

Surely it’s also value of service?
On West Coast they had pension deficits. On East Coast they overpromised and underdelivered spectacularly. They also did all they could to stop any sort of competition on the WCML by blackmailing the government.
Plus they’re now teaming up with Elon Musk.
Crystal Palace fans gearing up for what feels like about 17 matches within 3 weeks this December. #cpfc
It’s either gonna be Christmas Eve, or either the Leeds or Spurs match gets moved. It’s already jam packed in December, and if we get through both that and conference league our January and February is exactly the same! Truly David Mitchell-esque.

But crucially, when is it gonna happen?! There’s no room in the schedule…

Bear in mind they currently have a 70% shareholding in Avanti, want to do that London to Stirling route, operate Hull Trains, and own GWR. Basically, they’re trying to keep some services they already currently run, after they lose them to nationalisation.
A collection of damning questions to ask really, showing what a mess Britain is in now.
They lost the KLM contract and now have a glut of aircraft, which they can’t pay to maintain. They’ll prob restructure into a charter airline as that part appears to be profitable. Scheduled flights will go.
The writing has been on the wall for them for a while. Miracle they lasted this long. Struggled to continue throughout summer, and now winter schedule commences and they collapse. Their charter business may be profitable, so would not be surprised if they restructure. PSOs to be re-awarded.
Are you missing an 0 off that number or…?
Even to go to Ireland she had to do that. I can’t exactly go “surprise! We’re going to Paris today!”, I have to go “surprise! You’re going to the French embassy to have your whole life scrutinised so you might go to Paris in 2 months!”
Agree

But for people like my wife who have to undergo a so much more invasive process, she goes “you only have to do that?!” She has to also go to an appointment 2 Months in advance and give 6 months of bank statements, work and rental contract, payslips, return ticket, insurance, proof of funds…
Honestly, only having to do this is a privilege compared to what other third party nations have to do.
ETA is for visitors coming to UK. ETIAS is not in place yet. EES (which is this) is the first step towards implementing ETIAS.
With only 2 candidates on the ballot actively campaigning, it meant that the options were Fine Gael’s government backed candidate versus an independent socialist. The third pulled out after being an idiot. It meant that some centrists and some far right felt that they didn’t have a proper election.
With only one eye on the game it seems.
Every time they pan to the director’s box it seems none of those in the posh seats look overly bothered either! (Arsenal occupants)
