Lapsed influencer. Geordie (*VERY*). Arty. Amicable. Nice. Previously did football for adidas, Nike, Puma, World Soccer, Guardian, NY Times, BBC.

And then one particularly sensitive and articulate teenager will say, "Why, kids, do you understand nothing?”
Felt it was worth sharing this.

A lot of people have liked this. I should have added that it’s Laneways coffee in High Bridge. One of many excellent establishments in Newcastle. Do visit.
Good morning from central Newcastle!

If you need some extra distraction from *gestures broadly at everything,* Kilauea is here to help. The next eruptive episode, episode 41, looks to be kicking off right now! Fountains are starting to grow in height.

Wonder if the Barclays is going to deliver on:

1. Someone unexpected gets dragged into a relegation battle.
2. Someone near the bottom gambles on a striker that nobody else fancies and they turn out to be good.

Oh yes, one other little bit of interest to you (perhaps) if you’re near NE1. The Oxfam on Percy Street has a large lot of (mostly) ‘continental’ football scarves up for grabs. Definitely worth a look, if hipster is still a viable thing.

Some other observations from this morning’s tootle into Newcastle. Watch guy at the antique centre has one of these on sale. It’s a special edition for the 1976 Montreal Olympics and really does jump out. He reckons they can go for £5-6k but wanted £2k for his. Out of my range but nice nonetheless.

Ok, pulled back on buying the medium format camera despite a tempting offer. I probably just don’t have the time right now, but it will come again, I’m sure. Reckon I can fashion a bit of a dark room at home so that’s an option for another day. Did buy this bubbalicious bit of 1960 glass, though.

I see Greggs have secured the prime corner of the new Pilgrim Quarter development, because of course they have.

I’ll look at the polls, and I’ll listen to the ‘legitimate concerns’, but then I’ll also want to grab someone championing this scurrilous worm by the lapels and insist that’s it’s now time to ‘get a fucking grip’.

Worked with a retired Project Manager who’d decided to come back into Government for a bit of pocket money only to learn that he played bass on this AND I haven’t stopped dancing yet by Gonzalez. Scenes.

The current staff at The Adelphi are really canny and all that, but they’ve got hold of the playlist and it’s fucking abhorrent, less the odd Prince track (Guns and Roses version of Live and Let Die on repeat). I’d kill to hear Crockett’s Theme on the way in one night.
Not sure if I’ve posted this before, but it’s due a revisit due to sheer brevity more than anything. This lad has put every song used in Miami Vice, in chronological order, onto a playlist. Marvellous fun. I know it’s on evil Spotify, but you can copy to Qobuz etc. open.spotify.com/playlist/52B...
