This is one of the oddest panto posters we've looked at yet but perhaps the most entertaining. Ian Beale's short-lived spiv moustache demands you subscribe!
It's here! Episode 5 of PantoSplaining sees us only a few minutes down the road from Episode 4 but when we saw the stars and director in Halifax in 1995 we couldn't resist.

My actual favourite class test is one that David Reed gave me:

Everybody loves Panto Posters don't they? @benbaker.bsky.social and I do which is why we've started PantoSplaining, and why this month we're covering the Ian-Beale-Directed-and- James-Whale-Starring absurdity 'Aladdin' from 1995.

*Remember, we don't 'Splain the panto itself, just the poster*

Watching the Winter Olympics and remembering something Ahir Shah told me once. Posh people do dangerous sports, like skiing, because if they break a leg and have to spend weeks in bed off work, they don’t stop earning.

Think it might be as good a class test as what you call your settee.

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it

I'm struggling to think of a celebrity who *hasn't* made a travel show at some point. It's like having a round on 'Children's Authors'
February 11, 2026 at 5:46 PM
Pointless are doing a round on "travel presenters". Not "scripted comedy" or "classic drama" no these people are famous for going round Britain taking a sideways glance at Morris dancers etc

All excellent choices, sure, but I think the inclusion of James Last's Two Tribes is what's persuaded me to give this a listen.

A man just walked into this coffee shop mid conversation and said to his mate "Someone doesn't know the length of their car" which came across like a perfect punchline or double entendre far more than the parking criticism it no doubt was.
