As in "ew stay away from me" was not enough from me back then. I should have been very verbally and actively correcting their trash opinions and hate in public rather than just separating myself and that I think might have made this less horrible or at least might have helped some others.

So this statement "do something" is point for point the same thing Hitler did with Kristallnacht. He suggested they do something about the Jewish population and then washed his hands of it. He's literally parroting Hitler. Not figuratively. Actually literally parroting.

As a white man I would like to apologize on behalf of our demographic and my own ignorance. Until maybe 11 years ago I was also extremely ignorant and I feel like my lack of opposition to these people before this awakening helped contribute to this problem.
