And we're live

Well. That sucked. You know it sucked.

We're here to be your therapy. Come commiserate. You need it. I need it. Don't let us be alone.

There's nine outs to go and someone has to win. Regardless, we'll be live.

Come join me and Mitch regardless of what happens. I've got a lot of feels already. I'll have more soon.

It's either going to be an epic comeback or a disappointing night. Either way, we're here for you.

xBA of .670 on Hoerner's swing.

Kyle Tucker, you're going to have a money moment. You have two out. You have the tying run on first.

This is it.

Pivot points exist in games. First-Second and no outs is one. They missed there. If they lose, that's the inning.
jross17.bsky.social
Suzuki hit it almost 102mph. Damn.
jross17.bsky.social
Big spot for Seiya. Patrick is almost entirely cutter, sinker, fastball. Suzuki has a near .400 wOBA against all three on the year.
jross17.bsky.social
Two on, no outs. Cubs have seen a lot of Ashby. This feels like a really big spot for them.

I don't know what the final score is going to be, but I'll say this right now: regardless, I don't think the final score will be 2-1. There is a lot to go.

Nico Hoerner! Lets go!
jross17.bsky.social
Credit to Misiorowski. He's buried the slider like he should. It's an elite shape and the most elite velo slider in baseball by 2mph. You can't hit it if he buries it. Credit to Miz.
(the gold are sliders)

It's the fourth inning so nothing is final, but this feels pivotal. You get this out, and you keep it to one swing. You give up a double and this might break open enough where you can't come back.

Palencia is being brought in during the hinge point of this game.
jross17.bsky.social
Listen, the Cubs weren't going to win this game 2-1. That home run sucks, but you had to score more than one, or two, regardless. Find some runs.
jross17.bsky.social
Colin Rea had allowed just one home run since July 29th.

He couldn't keep that rate up. Damn.
jross17.bsky.social
Getting a tattoo on the front of your neck? Regardless of your religious affiliation, that's hardcore than me.
jross17.bsky.social
Colin Rea with 6 huge outs.
jross17.bsky.social
Swanson with an uncharacteristic error, and the then he and Hoerner turn two. Huge.
jross17.bsky.social
(That's obnoxious in a good way for the Brewers, btw)
jross17.bsky.social
I knew he was going to be obnoxious the day the Yankees traded him to Milwaukee.
jross17.bsky.social
I'm begging the Cubs to sit on the hanging slider from Miz.
jross17.bsky.social
This is a fun little happenstance.

Back on Aug. 20, Suzuki belted a 100+ mph fastball from Misiorowski to nearly the same right-center spot, but at Wrigley. And the wind blew that 22 feet back for a deep flyout, per Statcast (via @slangsonsports.bsky.social).

No wind here with the AmFam roof closed.
