I have three fig trees, two in very large pots and one in the ground that has grown quite big this year. I need to protect it for winter so I’ll have to cut it back to cover it. Last year I rooted the cuttings so now I have more baby fig trees that I really need to give away.

October mornings. All that’s left in the garden are raspberries and figs, plus a couple of paprika peppers. Just enough raspberries to top granola each morning.🌱

My husband and I used to go to local antique shops and laugh that they had stuff that our parents used. Then we saw stuff that we still used, and it wasn't so funny.

Oh- that 5 digit number was a party line and I learned quite early that you got in big trouble if you picked up the phone and didn't put it down immediately if people you didn't know were having a conversation.

Are you kidding? If you didn't want to thumb through the tissue paper pages of the phone book every time, you had to remember at least the most frequently called numbers. And mine started with MI9 (or Mitchell 9). Before that it was just 5 numbers, adding MI made it 7.

I was going through a box of old papers that’s been up in the rafters for years, no decades. In a newsletter written by my eighth grade class there was a passionate argument for why women would make better presidents than men. A lot of truth there in 1965.

Most of our signs are made by the same person, and it was her idea to do this series. She shows up with the back of her car loaded with dozens of signs for those of us who are not so artistic. And they are awesome.
