Oh, for sure. Money with mediocre management isn't going to beat a good team by itself. The problem is that money with good management will almost always beat not-money with good management, and the delta is widening

Brewers made it to the World Series in 1982 and lost. There are I think 4 teams that have never won a championship, including these two. Mariners might be the only team that's never been to the WS at all
