I know so many people who learned programming through modding Kingmaker, Wrath of the Righteous, and Rogue Trader. Having seen their code, I'm glad Owlcat is taking responsibility and telling people to please read a book

Nothing specific. My (anglo) wife was telling me about the current state of the PQ and this is what came to mind haha

When ostensibly leftist parties in Québec take a reactionary spin for the next election

RHETORIC [Heroic: Failure] - Alright, here we go. We're devoting all your available brain cells to coming up with a question about protecting French. Scratch that, to coming with *the* question about protecting culture, the alpha and omega of linguistic preservation questions, and that question is:

1. - (Whisper.) "Are women anglophones?"
2. - Oh god, that's bad. Surely I can think of something better.

It's a great deal to know that your odds of making the best entry in a famous series are actually pretty good

Sorry, wherever your standard output is going. I'm used to an industry that always writes everything into log files

I wonder if you comply with open source licenses by distributing your source in the logs

You need to make sure to have as much direct contact with the terrain as possible for optimal Geomancy

Game programmers running back to ping designers each time a Jira refers to any sort of game content by user-facing name because they've never played the build, despite producers allocating time for everyone to playtest

I actually enjoy Ian C. Esslemont's books, but they clearly don't have enough editing. I keep finding typos every chapter. In "Orb, Scepter, Throne", chapter 19 is written as "Chapter IXX".

Pretty impressive given how amazing the Game Boy "Donkey Kong" game is. Easy to mix up and randomly end up on either the worst or one of the best games on the hardware

It took me 10 weeks to beat an RPG this summer, because it turned out C# is very easy to reverse engineer and patch, so I made a mod to fix every issue I saw on the way lol.
Honestly I measure how much I enjoy a game by the number of PRs I make for it.
The curse of knowing how to make games

I must have missed the Delectables Pot upgrade when I skipped past Caelid

No Country For Old Men but it's two streamers constantly finding new material to cancel each other. The story ends with the millennial finally figuring out what people were subtweeting last week

I had actually never considered the detachable memory card as a tool to actually go out there and play on many different stations over your playthrough. The design makes more sense with this use case in mind.

Grats! Can't wait for your Hell Temple speedrun 😈

I remember renting this game because Sub-Zero was my favorite, and being stuck 10 seconds into the game. I legit had no idea how to proceed past the first room after hours of trying

"Fantasy setting that's secretly sci-fi" was a common trope at the time for CRPGs. Might & Magic (1986) is also notably all on a giant spaceship

I like that it's very challenging to do with melee weapons, with lots of approaches depending on weapons, while also being pretty exploitable with sub-weapons if you can just spend money on bombs. It gives you an out if you get stuck

Don't forget the sprites walking in place! And the waterfall texture probably moving a bit

I just finished it for the first time two weeks ago. I loved it! I had to fix a few bugs myself over the summer, it would be perfect with a few more patches.

Games have loading times so we can dip every character and every surface in transparent nail polish
