Me recap for new followers. I'm Kasey. I've worked in the animation industry as a designer/director for 18+ years now sell my own work. I'm a disabled ace lady with a lady partner. I watch ALOT of film/tv and am a hobbyist animation historian. I'm liberal, support trans rights, and draw MANY horses.

Making good use of your Ralph Fiennes sure helps. He was so genuine and kind that when you see the bone monuments for the first time it curbs the shock into a question. Plus Islas confusion was so realistic, that's how cancer sufferers act towards the end and she was able to go on her own terms.

Also having lost my mom to cancer I was shocked at how...sweet? Soothing? Gentle? This zombie movie was about grief and loss. Placing your mom's skull on a giant pile of skulls has never been so tender and honest.

It's been a PHENOMENAL year for horror. Like all different types. Comedy, Arthouse, slasher. Even the sequels were good! Final destination Bloodlines was fun as hell. Death of a Unicorn AND the Monkey!

I'm still excited! But my God the style of this first movie. You can't make a pale imitation after something like that. The use of collage editing to explain the way people live in the village... haven't seen anything like that in decades

I love how Jimmy haunted that entire movie and didn't appear until the end. His name was on the upside down corpse and there's Jimmy graffiti in the backgrounds. He was the star of the cold open but still surprised me at the end. I wish Danny Boyle was doing the whole new trilogy. I need MORE

I had heard 28 years later was good. But I didn't know it was like..."should win multiple Oscar's but won't because it's a zombie movie" Good. Also am I insane or are the Jimmys a reference to Jimmy Saville with the track suits and blonde wigs and fucked up catholicism? Jim will fix it right?
