I think it's more troubling to me that a guy who has presumably been doing hard data analysis for 25 years hasn't been able to reliably automate any part of his workflow until AI came along

Nate Silver has become the kind of guy a younger version of him would've absolutely loathed, which feels wonderfully poetic

AI has lost the dunce vote. It’s over

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

Bryan Harsin making an Auburn legacy guy who was actually okay go somewhere else was among his nastiest work

I suppose Jackson Arnold is an upgrade over Payton Thorne and Robby Ashford, but I also suppose overcooked rice is better than starving

I imagine coaching in the SEC feels like there is always an unruly child willing to throw a toaster in your bath

hugh freeze trying to get a call against georgia and thusly burned one of his second half timeouts. what an interesting choice
katesofheaven.bsky.social
i almost always go for high variance takes because it makes life interesting
katesofheaven.bsky.social
i don't think they will, though. most teams will likely have sponsor patches next year and there's too much money to be gained in their view

do think the leagues at some point should implement some sort of pace of play or maximum commercial break measures. probably could drop the halftime to 15 minutes and restrict the commercial breaks like the NFL does

i can mostly rationalize not being the target audience for most tv shows, but i have to wonder who exactly the target audience is for a 9-1-1 spinoff show. it's basically the tv equivalent of a store-brand frozen dinner
katesofheaven.bsky.social
for a second i thought it was january and was watching tv teddy hijack a kentucky-arkansas game with georgia-auburn

hugh freeze looks like he wants to kill himself and i don't really blame him

the other major problem is that if that is georgia ball, georgia scored a touchdown. he literally scored it. the rules allow for a ref to look at the probable result of a play. why did they get spotted at the one yard line

also this many replays is fucking indulgent. just call the play on the field
katesofheaven.bsky.social
my agenda that these are mass plays not within the spirit of football is winning slowly but surely
katesofheaven.bsky.social
something has gotta be done about the officiating in this conference man lol, every week there's some absolutely game changing call/no call that nobody gets to call out without taking $100k out of their pocket
katesofheaven.bsky.social
that is probably an Auburn touchdown but I do not think there's enough evidence to overturn

that guy is gonna get cranked with enough lipids to become a sentient stick of butter

my man said he wanted to get drunk on the log scale

think I really noticed this at first against Georgia Tech last year and it was *really* apparent against Notre Dame in the playoff. noticed it even more against Tennessee and Bama this year and it's like that against Auburn, too
katesofheaven.bsky.social
like you can lean on this team a little. they'll lean back but it's not the Saban-esque smothering that they played like from 2017-23
katesofheaven.bsky.social
one of the things you really start to notice about Georgia from last year and this year is how many relatively slender guys that don't do well with physicality are out there for them
katesofheaven.bsky.social
I think Ohio State is Better but it ain't proven and ain't by much
katesofheaven.bsky.social
a sentence I never thought I would say: Indiana-Ohio State is the most likely national title game this year
camislike.com
The Indiana Hoosiers have a case to be ranked #1 in the nation
katesofheaven.bsky.social
they played better than they have but giving up 500 to an interim is "needs a retool" territory at a minimum
katesofheaven.bsky.social
hate to sound ungrateful to win but it's gonna cost us big at some point

Josh Heupel is about to screw us out of another with dogshit play calling in the 4th quarter
