the answer is probably a lot better than it is now.

if you ever actually watch belichick coach, he will give tips that i've never seen anyone else give. multiple DBs have said he was the easiest coach to play for because he knew everything. he just can't run a cfb program anymore.

embarrassingly, i've listened to him since the syndication days on and off and he never mentioned politics once. and that's when he would've had a lot more leeway to do so given most of the station programming directors (including at WJOX) would've not thought much about an off comment or two

the Finebaum-as-political operator thing is just strange for a number of reasons, but I'm glad you mentioned he hasn't really gone out of his way to be conservative in any real context before now. he's always been more PT Barnum and less the elephant in the tent

this is why i'm not actually convinced the AI bubble will "pop" in a way that meaningfully affects the big players. the entire western financial system kind of rests on AI generating the returns it keeps promising
