I talked out my Mike Tomlin feelings for The Ringer.

He had a great run. I don't want to be a Jets or Cardinals fan. But the choreography where Steelers fans get tired of unprecedented averageness and are scolded by everyone else had to end. Tomlin would agree: www.theringer.com/2026/01/14/n...

Been reading this over and over and can't for the life of me understand what he's even trying to say. This is a lot of words to say... nothing.

Wrote about the thing that animates Bluesky the most: Golf!

LIV Golf is very close to death, or at least as close to death as you can be when your funders do not care about losing billions of dollars and could continue to do so forever. Sad. @slate.com on how we got here: slate.com/culture/2026...

Overall a great run by Mike Tomlin. Glad he was the Steelers' coach. Should've been over a year ago minimum, probably two or three. Now let's see a proper bottoming out and rebuild in God's image (by being bad enough to get a real QB)

Staying and arguing that you're doing it to change a place from the inside can be a lousy excuse. But leaving actually does beg the question of who's going to do the job instead of you and whether that's better or worse. I don't have the answer www.nytimes.com/2026/01/13/u...

Sean here has the best analysis of late-stage Mike Tomlin Steelers fandom
A truly bad season allows one to find other pursuits and activities outside of football. It forces you to look inward and consider your own worries, concerns, and shortcomings. That you guys have never had a season like that is probably why every single Steelers fan I know is braindead.

I want to go 3-14 one year. I actually want it. Stop telling me I don't want it
Really have to credit Mike Tomlin for winning a Super Bowl 17 years ago, getting to another two years later, and going 3-10 in the playoffs ever since.

Stroud is unwatchable but the Texans' defense is so good that you wonder if they could drag his carcass to a SB à la the Broncos in Peyton's last season

Texans edge rushers are awesome but you can't be serious with both of them wearing numbers in the 50s. Grow up
