Most sacks in a player’s first 11 games of a season, since they became an official stat in 1982:

Reggie White (1987) — 19.0
Myles Garrett (2025) — 18.0
Mark Gastineau (1984) — 17.5

The single-season record is 22.5, and Garrett has six more chances to add to it.

Lou Anarumo has made a habit of slowing down the league’s most dangerous offenses.

Sunday isn’t just another matchup vs. Patrick Mahomes for the Colts’ defensive coordinator. It’s his real-time audition for a bigger job.

Shedeur Sanders has done everything possible to prepare for his first NFL start.

People inside the Browns building say there’s been a calm about the rookie that sticks out.

Would the league ever implement a win minimum for teams to hit in order to retain their first-round picks?

I did some investigating for "Pardon My Take", and this is what various league sources had to say: www.nytimes.com/athletic/682...

It appears that Brandon Aiyuk has likely played his final game for the 49ers, despite repeated overtures from team officials and even players to try to bring Aiyuk back into the fold.

Joe Burrow (toe) will not play against the Patriots.

League sources say that the Bengals made the decision Friday to roll with Joe Flacco for another week, with the hope that Burrow will return to the lineup Thanksgiving night against the Ravens.

The 49ers have grown increasingly frustrated with Brandon Aiyuk’s lack of communication.

His presence at the team’s training facility has become scarce. And despite efforts from those within the building to bring him back, his time in San Francisco appears to be running out.
November 22, 2025 at 12:11 AM
Brandon Aiyuk, according to multiple league sources, told NFLPA reps in a meeting that he did not want to fight the 49ers' voiding his 2026 guaranteed money via an official grievance. That would clear the way for his expected release at season’s end.

After Brandon Aiyuk failed to attend meetings and declined to participate in 49ers team activities, sources say the team responded by voiding the guaranteed money in his contract for 2026, asserting that the absences amounted to a failure to fulfill his contractual obligations.

When a head coach is fired but a GM stays, what red and green flags might that create for prospective hires? I asked sources around the league with significant experience in the NFL’s hiring cycles and got fascinating responses about the dynamics of a “holdover GM”: www.nytimes.com/athletic/682...
Can it ever work when an NFL coach gets fired but the GM remains?
The Giants appear set to keep their GM but hire a new head coach, an organizational transition with historically mixed results.
