“The 49ers, sources say, responded by voiding the guaranteed money in Aiyuk’s contract for 2026, asserting that the absences amounted to a failure to fulfill his contractual obligations.”
The 49ers have grown increasingly frustrated with Brandon Aiyuk’s lack of communication.

His presence at the team’s training facility has become scarce. And despite efforts from those within the building to bring him back, his time in San Francisco appears to be running out.

Some in the 49ers organization are holding out hope that the relationship between the team and Brandon Aiyuk can be salvaged enough for him to return this season, but all indications are that the receiver has no desire to play for San Francisco.

My column from Las Vegas...
From @theathletic.com: The Cowboys’ victory over the Raiders didn’t salve a team reeling from the death of 24-year-old Marshawn Kneeland. That loss was bigger than football, and it will linger, likely for a long, long time, our columnist writes.

Even the Cowboys’ biggest hype man, 83-year-old owner Jerry Jones, conceded that a playoff run might be a bit ambitious. “It’s probably a little late in the game,” he told The Athletic. “But if not this season, our future is looking brighter.”
