maybe you should listen to me when I tell you that every sports team I ever love will crack
katesofheaven.bsky.social
now it's 21-21. never doubt me ever again
katesofheaven.bsky.social
see it's 21-14 now. that's how it always starts
katesofheaven.bsky.social
you know how many 21-7 games I've seen Tennessee lose? it's a lot
katesofheaven.bsky.social
how is another team I love going to break my heart this time?
katesofheaven.bsky.social
love that this is facing the right direction for the defense

she ranted for an hour and a half about the batting stance of exactly one (1) player for the a's and i felt like i got the briefest glimpse of what it must be like to be inside that girl's brain

Filling in the “explain why you are suited for this opening” section of my application to an internship in baseball with “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I’LL DO ANYTHING PLEASE I AM SO AUTISTIC ABOUT THIS SPORT PLEASE I WON’T BE HAPPY DOING ANYTHING ELSE”

they really put the most potentially soul-crushing games at 3 pm eastern on a wednesday, huh

i'm a trans woman from east tennessee; most everything in my entire post-transition life has happened because of it

so, to channel zhou enlai: it's too soon to tell

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

my thought is that he would've done his best work as non-teaching faculty coaching some high school team. or, like, take the job with MIT's football team where there's zero pressure
katesofheaven.bsky.social
she should talk about presbyterian football. that could help.

the answer is probably a lot better than it is now.

if you ever actually watch belichick coach, he will give tips that i've never seen anyone else give. multiple DBs have said he was the easiest coach to play for because he knew everything. he just can't run a cfb program anymore.

embarrassingly, i've listened to him since the syndication days on and off and he never mentioned politics once. and that's when he would've had a lot more leeway to do so given most of the station programming directors (including at WJOX) would've not thought much about an off comment or two

the Finebaum-as-political operator thing is just strange for a number of reasons, but I'm glad you mentioned he hasn't really gone out of his way to be conservative in any real context before now. he's always been more PT Barnum and less the elephant in the tent

he's got maybe 10 usable hours in a day and the 32 year old psychopaths that coach college football are regularly tanking it for 20+ hours a day with enough vapes to smell like blueberry and sweat by 11 am
katesofheaven.bsky.social
another general issue most people are ignoring is that he's 73 and isn't known for being high-strung; that man is sleeping 11 hours a day and needs two hours + three cups of coffee to get going

Bill Belichick won 10 games with Matt Cassell and then made the playoffs with Mac Jones, so I don't think the UNC thing necessarily proves that he was always a fraud, like some folks are saying.

I think it proves he is *currently* a fraud, though.

this is why i'm not actually convinced the AI bubble will "pop" in a way that meaningfully affects the big players. the entire western financial system kind of rests on AI generating the returns it keeps promising

my mom will do this, too. love being 2,000 miles away and she says "please pray for me" and i have to text her 35 times just for her to say "i'm alright, i just wanted some prayer :)"

(i will include olympia-lacey-tumwater in that "roughly", but it is Different than the seattle metro)

appalachia being divided into three distinct regions tracks, and the fun thing is all of those dialects have some degree of mutual intelligibility

12 gets Weird. there's a little strand that starts at everett and ends roughly at JBLM that feels like civilization and everywhere else that doesn't

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

I'm not harassing him, it's literally just a creative expansion of his nickname!
