From yesterday, visits to Sazaedo Pagoda (double helix ramps inside) and Enzoji Temple (where the red cow that's become a prefectural symbol) originated. And some stunning/ scary twisting mountain roads.

Spent AGES in the Hokusai Museum in Obuse today and it was GLORIOUS! Better still, you are permitted to take (non-flash) photos so I took each caption and artwork so I can spend longer reading and understanding them later, there were too many people to linger longer and my hip was giving me pain.

I've tried it several times over many years and never been able to enjoy it so I've just accepted it's something there's not for me. I can't say I hate it but at the same time I probably wouldn't eat it just to be polite 🤣

Incredible dinner and breakfast at our Aizuwakamatsu inn, which specialises in traditional cuisine. That first picture is not remotely the full meal!
