Thing I just learned. “Lede” as in “bury the lede” is a deliberate misspelling of “lead”. It’s part of a lexicon of misspellings used for annotations by journalists and subs so that notes on copy are removed, rather than included in the body of the text by accident. Others include “dek” and “hed”.

I'm not in the loop of having kids but I can't imagine deciding to have kids with a man who doesn't pull his full weight in the home. I guess if pregnancy just happens? I dunno. I look at many strong women I know who accept all the mental labour and most of the house work and I can't understand it!

The only ones who did face repercussions were the male teachers who went for boy students. Male teachers going for girls or female teachers going for boys was obviously acceptable (to adults if the era).

My physics teacher was known to have a girlfriend in the 5th year every year. Apparently his wife was one such past student who got pregnant. Never faced any repercussions that I'm aware of.

A whole bunch of us have grown up in the UK knowing to flee in the other direction if we spot this flag anywhere. We’re not going to pause to see if there are stickers stuck below them.
