4th film of my horror fest was VENOM (2005). This is an EXTREMELY 2005 Bayou slasher with franchise aspirations. But I believe it was a one and done. The snake VFX was distracting and a lot of characters were awful. But the last act was kind of solid.

3rd film of my horror fest was BODY PARTS (1991) which is an early 90’s heater. I feel like I had seen it before but it has been a while. Super fun with elements of body horror and slashers. Not enough Remo Lacey.

2nd film of my horror fest was HELL NIGHT (1981). First watch. A really fun 80’s Halloween night slasher with a great cast, Linda Blair and co, set in a gothic mansion. Great production design. Justice for Seth.

Programming my own horror fest. 1st was VAMPYRES (1974). Rewatch. Thanks @elrickane.bsky.social for the reminder as this is a great opener to a marathon. Dripping with atmosphere, wine, and blood. This is my kind of horror. Love the two not-so-dead girls. Also, don’t camp near a creepy mansion.

SINISTER is a great spooky season watch. Love that Boards of Canada needle drop. Great atmosphere. Disturbing super 8 reels. Hawke rockin a cardigan. And it was made by cool people. What else do you need?
