I’m excited to share the announcement that I’m involved in the new season of TALES FROM BEYOND THE PALE as writer and director of MADGE, THE WORLD SPIDER, AND ONE LAST DRINK. Thrilled to be among so many insanely talented folks I admire. Happy Halloween 🎃 rue-morgue.com/exclusive-de...
Even though this hits digital today I wanted to see it theatrically so I went to the rare late showing and I’m so glad I did. This was the bee’s knees…so to speak. Yorgos, you mad man. Deceitfully funny, shocking at times, with its finger on the pulse of what I’ll call change-impotence. Loved it.

Hey, this Soderbergh guy is pretty damn good! Very fun, clever spy thriller w/great performances. Really impressed by Marisa Abela who I wasn’t familiar with. There’s a classic feel to the film which feels unique given the modernity of Presence. Typically, given genres, it’d be the other way round.

Beautiful score. Cage doesn’t surf once but drinks his own piss, bites into a dead rat, learns something about masculinity, and maybe, just maybe, learns a little about himself too. Carries some of that Wake in Fright spirit, and more obviously John Cheever’s The Swimmer. A vibe.

First movie I ever saw. I was 2. My mom says I never took my eyes off the screen. And I’ve been fascinated by and in love with movies ever since. They’ll always retain some sense of magic and wonder for me.

Love the team of writers and artists on the book but I’m uh…not feeling this Black Panther Bicentennial cover, to say the least.

Liked it. It’s got some significant pacing issues, and a certain A to B to C plot rigidness that holds it back from exploring other dark corners, but it’s also suitably creepy and gave me chills at points. Stuckmann has an impressive eye. Great visual sense. Will definitely see what he does next.

Such a beautifully put together first issue of Fangoria Presents. A genuine must-have for any fan of Frankenstein (any/all iterations), and Fangoria. Sold out online but available in bookstores! Get after it. Congrats to @mereborders.bsky.social @jasonkauz.bsky.social and everyone involved! 🌩️

The audio track was broken (no dialogue, just music) and they couldn’t fix it. So we got vouchers. Real bummer. Hopefully I can see it before Wicked overtakes every theater this weekend.

Watched the first three episodes. It’s such a unique approach to the “alien invasion” plot, and I have no idea where it’s headed or how it will sustain itself for 4 seasons. That’s really compelling to me. Rhea Seehorn is incredible. I’m locked in.

Silent Hill f is so intense I hate it. I mean I love it, but I hate going back into that fog again. Like damn, Shimizu, can we just walk in peace? 😂

What if when he was released, he was the old Fetterman again? “Fuck, I don’t know what the hell I’ve been saying. Of course, full support to Palestine. And why the hell did we agree to end this shutdown with nothing in return for our constituents? Please, get me my good hoodie…and a cheesesteak.”

I enjoy most of PWSA’s films, without the need to qualify them with vulgar auteurism bs, but this was narratively dull as sin and aesthetically ugly as hell. Hope he doesn’t use virtual production tech for an entire movie again. Whole cast is sleepwalking. His worst since Pompei.
