Totally agree. Top-down can work for designing, controlling, and maintaining a machine (say an airplane), not so much for dynamic, complex, interrelated systems of living beings.

When I can’t work on my main project, I often do a small quick thing from stash. The hat is an old pattern I put up for free on Ravelry some years ago. Finished some ad-libbed mitts while traveling this weekend. Gave away to family 😁. Link in alt txt. #knitting #knitsky

MLK said positive peace is “the presence of justice”. Positive peace recognizes inevitable conflict (people will always disagree) but works to resolve it with fairness and transparency.

One imagines the Nobel committee is aware of the difference.

Trump’s perspective is of “negative peace” where the external appearance of a situation is quiet. It could be workers accepting abuse because they will be punished if they complain. Or it could be a cease fire which, if maintained long enough for Trump to win a prize, will earn favors promised.⬇️
