We long ago witnessed the death of journalism. A few surviving journalists can be found but you have to seek them out on substack and the like.

Honestly, it’s exhausting that people think Gazans should only ask for help to survive to eat, to stay alive but not to dream, to study, or to rebuild their lives. Wanting education, safety, and a future isn’t greed. It’s being human.

Portland is really having a moment.

It’s tradition that when you see the frogs, you show them respect 🫡

(Someone should do the Creed cut with the footage)

I continue to be surprised at how many (supposedly) intelligent people managed to convince themselves, and others, that Brexit would be A Good Thing.

Astonishing.

We now know that any time he wanted Donald Trump could have rung Benjamin Netanyahu and ordered him to stop the destruction of Gaza. He chose not to. Imposing a peace at the barrel of a gun after laying waste does not deserve a Nobel prize.

'They've destroyed everything': Palestinians return to devastation in Gaza City
Those returning say they are driven by desperation rather than confidence that it is safe.

Whenever I meet politicians who championed Brexit nowadays, I ask them a simple question: do you still think you were right? A few fools mutter, “Yes, on balance” & “In the long term, perhaps.” Fools ? Or charlatans ? Either way, Starmer's inaction is a disgrace

We all know Brexit’s to blame for the crisis facing UK steel – it’s time for politicians to be honest and reverse it | Simon Jenkins
With British industry faltering, the excuse that the public wants this is risible. Parliament must force Starmer to act, says Guardian columnist Simon Jenkins

Henceforth they are to be referred to as Farage Boats, because they only emerged post-Brexit.

Been strolling around central Madrid this evening, two observations:

1. The outdoor-cafe game here is so on point. They are everywhere! Tucked in every nook & cranny. Everyone is outside, *with one another*.
2. People live here, there are schools here, & so there are families with kids everywhere.

Ever since I finished Question Time, Reform have massively been on the attack.

Including a rant from Richard Tice entirely designed to distract from Reform and Russia.

Everyone should know about Nathan Gill, the bribes from Russia and the link to Reform.

Nigel Farage accuses teachers of "poisoning our kids" on race issues.

Here's a reminder of what teachers and fellow pupils at Farage's own school remember of his own views on that subject.

It is embarassing not to see the BBC pulling up Reform leaders claiming that Nathan Gill was just some fan who got photos taken with Farage - he was an MEP for them & their leader in Wales while taking cash from Russia to act against the UK! Literally the very basics of your job to point this out

Do you know the ponds or the people that swim there?
kenmunn.bsky.social
Talk to the ladies that swim there. They are not opposed. It’s non swimmers who are making waves.
kenmunn.bsky.social
Male-bodied individuals, as you call them, or transgender individuals as I call them may have been trans for decades and have been using the ladies’ pond for years. They are accepted by the swimmers as ‘one of the girls’.

As for the mixed pond, it’s summer only, not year round like the other two.

The ratio of pedestrian deaths caused by vehicle drivers compared with pedestrian deaths caused by cyclists is 400:1.

Cyclists are not the problem.

You know, it’s very depressing logging on here and reading about even more disruptive actions from the rogue elephant that was, somehow, elected as President of the USA.

A flow of good news from the US would be very heartening.

Maybe Trump doesn’t want Nobel prize winners in the US if he can’t have one too.

Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

The news was quietly dropped via a sudden website update with no public word from any of the companies involved or a statement from the agency
