Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

It’s worth noting the solar trades were asking FERC to let companies leave the interconnection queue bc of Trump, a sign stuff would get nixed bc of permits

Esmeralda 7 was all set to receive its final approvals in July and even got a rare procedural win from the Trump admin in its early days

Then came Trump’s permitting freeze, which was a condition for passing his tax megabill

Now 6.2 gigawatts of new solar — unfathomable to me — may be no longer
