yes I find endless relitigation of 2016, especially by the dumbest people who never learn a single thing and are constantly baffled by events of the world, quite boring. Not worth the time.

Sorry gotta demand at least a middle school level of cleverness form my reply guys. Cheers.

But also the endless 2016 litigation is bad for everyone so I shouldn't have added to it here.

Bernie campaigned hard for her and the "Bernie's fault" stuff seems just made up. IMHO, it's the flipside of the Bernie Bros who blame his loss entirely on "the DNC" instead of the actual failures of his campaign. Clinton's loss was about her campaign failures and the media / Comey issues.

ChatGPT centrists never learn anything huh.

Statistically, more Bernie 16 voters voted for Clinton than Clinton 08 voters voted for Obama.

Part of it is a tonal clash issue I feel. Hades I and II both want to be dark and mythic and bloody and grand in scope... and also super cute lighthearted fluff. Doesn't really work together.

Yes, although hard to imagine a lower bar...

Probably not a great Peace Prize pick if their first move is trying to provoke a war.

Machado issues her first statement since being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and makes a thinly-veiled appeal to Trump for US intervention in Venezuela:

This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom.
We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy.
I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!

Also despised the Disney movie! First one I hated, as a kid.

Yeah I found the corniness at acceptable levels for Hades 1 but the sirens as teen pop stars battle already has me set to abandon Hades 2.
philbybear.bsky.social
It's an interesting article, and I can honestly empathize with the root of the author's problem with the sort of YAification of fantasy–of the fantastical as a whole–that forms the central core of Hades's ethos.

I have friends who've bounced off both Hades games purely because of its...

Hades II demeans the mystery and grandeur of myth through its shallow writing and unserious tone, writes @gracemachine.bsky.social. www.endlessmode.com/video-games/...

Democrats and Republicans so it looks like a debate with two sides, but everyone sitting there agrees on the actual subject of the discussion.

Imagine still believing John Roberts cares about the rule of law or is opposed to abuse of power in 2025. "I hope Saruman is happy about the orcs Sauron is unleashing!"

It’s hard to overstate how grotesque is the prosecution of Letitia James. I hope John Roberts—who unleashed this malignant, vengeful career criminal on our beloved country—is enjoying Trump’s utter abuse of power and trashing of justice and the rule of law.

One of the telling differences between artists and non-artists is the latter always seem to think the problem for the former is not having ideas. The problem is usually... the exact opposite.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

"However, there is an omniscient-third voice that will sometimes dip into the heads of other characters and often simply speaks to the reader."

Periodic reminder that Jackson favorite authors were all 18th century!

Also, happy birthday Lincoln! 🎂

It seems highly unlikely it will go to an American again in the next few years after Dylan and Gluck.
