You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

It’s going to take awhile

Thinking about that Krugman soundbite about how only 2% of Americans have ever done anything with crypto and it feels like the enormous crypto marketing blitz I see constantly in New York and New Jersey is less to attract customers and more to make people believe there's an industry there

Seeing Megalopolis in a movie theater felt like a dying dream, when everything stops making sense and it’s time to go.

Earlier this year you’d see this kind of thing and get angry. Now it’s just pathetic.

The only good thing to come out of DOGE was Big Balls getting beat up by those high school kids
DOGE was always a very thinly disguised con to dress up data theft and extraction class destruction of federal corporate oversight as innovative, and it's important to remember that part of the reason it worked so well is that the press helped legitimize it
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires

Take a picture of someone and give it to Grok so it can shout obscenities at them based on their looks. That sounds hilarious!

Scrolling through recent CinemaScores. Wicked For Good gets an A. Audiences aren’t in line with the bad reviews it’s been getting

An A- for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues?? Way better than Die My Love’s D+ or After the Hunt’s C-.

It’s beyond depressing how over and over it’s been shown the American public wants to go to the movies if there’s something worth seeing.

But the elites who control our media keep saying, nope, you don’t want that, you want to sit at home and see everything on streaming platforms
There’s no way around it—Warner Bros. being bought and sold is bad for theatrical exhibition. Consolidation is about cost-cutting, which means fewer movies in cinemas.

I watched It Couldn’t Happen Here (1987) on the Criterion Channel, the Pet Shop Boys doing the Magical Mystery Tour thing. It’s very good at showing the general grottiness of Britain (it opens with Neil buying dirty postcards) And most of the songs are from Actually, one of the best pop albums ever
