Elon moves $133 million in crypto from SpaceX, and Trump accepts a $130 million donation. Hmmm… is Elon buying his spot back? Probably just an odd coincidence.

My quote of the day

Nothing is more despicable than respect based on fear.

Albert Camus
Ominous in the potential danger
Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.

Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.

These aren’t acts of benevolence or patriotism.

This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

Every American should reject it.
It’s been that kinda year
Unclear what should be more concerning: that I was so distracted I accidentally shook chili powder into my coffee this AM instead of cinnamon, or that I drank half the mug before noticing this.
Wonderful visit to Istanbul for the Beneficial AGI conference.

Stunning views of the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque
We need courageous people in Congress. Go get ‘em Kate!

Federal Judge Jeffrey Cummings has found that ICE agents violated the terms of a consent decree by detaining people without proper warrants. He ruled that as of this week ICE must wear body cams at all times and can face arrest and contempt proceedings if they conduct unlawful, warrantless arrests.

Rather than accept this unintended outcome, the administrative team decided to revert to established method of one coin one vote with better understood thresholds.
Catalyst intended to implement an alternative voting method to support further decentralization of the community decision-making. A miscalibration of the modified thresholds resulted in a dramatic reduction in the number of proposals approved for funding.
At least the protests are cute
Absolutely true, but also, only Kings “win every single swing state”. Why isn’t this election being investigated?
The experience of traveling through Jordan was amazing. People throughout Amman were wonderful. Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea are unforgettable.

Just dipped my paintbrush into my tea instead of the tin.

How's your day going?
This is it. This is the quote I needed to hear today.

Thanks Patrick, from the 21st century
“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government…”

We got $20 billion for Argentina though.
Clarification: Is the Aegean Sea part of the “Mediterranean”? Western Turkey is certainly part of the Mediterranean culture but how nuanced are people in distinguishing between the Aegean, Adriatic, and Mediterranean Seas?

Wish I could be as optimistic as David is about this, but speaking as someone who did his thesis work on the history of corporate personhood in the Supreme Court, the odds of SCOTUS not intervening here on behalf of the plutocrats are approximately zero
