Success! I've photographed my first celestial object.
Just realized tonight is a Beaver Moon.

I wonder if I can use my A6400 with a 70-350mm lens to pick up anything. It's a clear sky, not a cloud in sight!

This will be my first attempt at astrophotography of sorts.
There was a UPS plane crash in Kentucky yesterday that destroyed blocks of warehouses and I have yet to see anything on the national news about this.
I want to upgrade to a full frame camera from an apsc but all it takes is reading one negative comment out of the 99% positive ones to derail my motivation to commit to the purchase.

"Oh the shutter gets loose after 10,000 shots." 😑

No camera for me today. Until next time.
Would love for a remake of this film Killbots aka Chopping Mall. Not sure why it was renamed but I remember seeing the original a few times. Years later, I see it retitled as Chopping Mall with its length cut down.
Started a management services business a couple weeks ago and it's been quite an adventure navigating the path towards being legally compliant. Although its not my first time starting something, it feels more complex this time around.
COP creates the illusion of action for world states without an enforcement mechanism to compel those states to commit to their agreements. It's purpose is to satiate the public hunger for confronting climate change.

It just buys time for the inevitable.
I've been uploading some photos to Google Maps. A night walk on The Strand in Galveston, I took several photos which created a virtual map of my route.

I took much more than what's displayed here but I'm pacing myself doing 1 or 2 locations per day.
it would've turned out so well if I had raw formats to work with
I'm so crushed about this because I was really looking forward to editing that set. worst part is others were looking forward to seeing what I captured.
That sinking feeling realizing that the 200 photos you shot of a concert in low light was only shot in JPEG because you forgot to switch it to RAW.

first time for everything I guess.
Attended a ska show last night and was pleasantly surprised to see a local scene that still exists. It wasn't well attended but it was a healthy crowd to show up and support. Talented group of people still making it work.
I wish there's a decent Instagram alternative. I don't care for reels or shorts. I don't want to be force-fed influencer curated content.

Early IG was a place to see user-generated content especially for events that were happening currently. Nowadays, their search function is beyond useless.
I personally use Steam because it provides a centralized place to see all the games I've bought and never play.

But really, I can find classic and new titles, plus their search functions could be better but is still better than anything else out there.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
The time I worked on an event that featured a bar created entirely from ice.
A white lynx has been found in Spain. The next move the Spanish government should make is to ban any travel into the country by princes from Liechtenstein.
"We All Wear the Mask, But How Long Will It Last" art mural in Houston's Theater District.

The mural is about access to clean water for all.

If you have an intern or work with an intern, trust their instincts and treat them as you would any regular member of the team.

Lots already do this, but the few might not recognize the untapped potential of these individuals. They are the key to understanding new markets.
I started thinking about Doctor Who @bbcdoctorwhom.bsky.social traveling through human history. One thing they seemed to have missed is fads.

There should be a fad where everyone decides to style unibrows in one of the timelines.
How I see things, isn't the same as someone else and that comes down to physical biology.

Question now becomes, do I color correct / adjust based on what I see or what a mass audience would want to see?
I've noticed that when I upload photos to social, they look much darker (verified by viewing on different devices) than what I see when I edit. To correct this I've darkened the brightness of my monitor.

But I think the viewing experience is subjective to a certain degree.
Shout out to PiXImperfect YT for helping me improve my editing.

I always learn something new and go apply it to photos. The image taken at 24th and The Strand in Galveston. Edited in LRC first then in Photoshop using gradient maps for shadows & highlights.

The @houstonzoo.bsky.social Zoo Lights attraction from 2024.

Finally got a chance to edit these photos I took last December. By far one of the best Christmas lights display I've ever seen.
