If I have to listen to another white guy on Youchube tell me that I'll never draw good if I don't know the name and placement of every bone and muscle and what shape every sphincter in the body is I'm going to go insane

U can learn to draw a body by just like. looking at it. Observational drawing.

The only weird art that they are talking about is usually what the people around them made them think is weird but is in fact the most vanilla and mainstream thing ever. People in school bullied me for liking Super Mario and it was the coolest shit outside of my place.

Besides the whole voodoo thing about Alastor. I'm not sure because as you say a lot of the characters are not even human and a lot of them in their human forms are POC, were POC or look like POC, like Vortex or Verosica, some of succubi, Sera, Velvette and Valentino.

To be fair, nowadays I am seeing an increase of people taking fictional villains a way too seriously like of they were real people. Not only Valentino but also other villains that existed longer. Remember that meme that was "Upgrade. GO BACK". It's literally how we are now.

Found out that I didn't pose my moogle sona on here so here's Tobi as a moogle
"Hellaverse is racist"
What? No.. How is it-
"OH SO YOU'RE RACIST???

"Hellaverse fetishizes gay men"
Emmm... No... That's not-
"OH SO YOU'RE HOMOPHOBIC???"

That's how it feels trying to talk with antis
When I commented on Twitter that POC and queer shouldn't be hating the show someone literally quoted: It's a show filled with pinkwashed characters so of course we should.

.... I had to look for the meaning of that word on Google. Congrats to that person. They've fallen into anti-woke ideology

Haven't drawn this boy in a hot minute
Whether is for these topics or to understand the concept of fiction as a whole.

And I think that's all I wanted to say, I really needed to get it off my chest. OMG what a long ass comment
People just need to learn to not take everything in fiction as face value when it's not required and understand what is meant to be serious. What we need is not erasing these works out of existence but better education about everything.
I understand you're scared that people wouldn't take seriously these topics or that they will repeat these things in real life because many times it happens and it's not because of these types of fiction.
And sometimes fiction can be both a escapism of reality and also give you a good message. Fiction can literally be anything and that's the magic of it and people want to strip that magic away just because a story doesn't have what they are looking for and that's so bad.
If what you want is a good story that tackles this topic with seriousness, there's a ton of them and you pick the ones where that's not the main objective.
I don't really get why many people still think that fiction needs to be something to teach you about what to do or not, when in reality you can't kill dragons cause they don't exist and martial arts are not as exciting as in the movies.
These webtoons are not supposed to show you a good representation of this heavy topic. They are just the author's fantasy. There's so many of these webtoons because so many people, specially girls are into this. They love the thought of being saved by a handsome man. That's what it is.
Fiction is... Anything. A reflection of our reality. A place where you can give life messages to people... And also an escapism of our reality.
The problem, regarding this person, is because that this topic means nothing to the person reading or the one who created this work for not doing it with ""sensitivity"".
After already saying this, now I want to go the part. There's this video called "Webtoon's Rape Problem". In this vide basically the person complaining about the constant trope of the girl who's saved by a handsome guy from being sexually assaulted and then they both fall in love.
but what I mean by this is that sometimes you are not going to always agree with the authors wants of their own work and that's fine, but your disagreement is not an objective opinion to treat as criticism. Sometimes it is, but more often than not it isn't.
I agree that once the author publish their works to the world then is no longer theirs, but it's inevitable to not put a piece of them in what they make. This is a big topic to have another conversation about,
