My condolences go out to MN Rep Melissa Hortman, MN Sen John Hoffman, their families, and all those grieving this heinous act of violence. When we seek elected office, we agree to make various sacrifices. However, safety in one's own home is not a sacrifice that anyone should be required to make.

BAD BILL ALERT: Senate Republicans have waited literally 'til the 11th hour to unleash HB 127, which, if passed, would ban DEI programs and initiatives in schools.

The bill initially offered teachers more sick leave days. Republicans deleted that part.
Senate Republicans have waited until the Gold Dome is virtually clear of advocates and the public... to throw the anti-DEI bill back up for a vote. 10:30 at night, after 12+ hours on the floor.
The Dem Caucus will always vote against bad election bills. #23Strong
Thank you Senator Cory Booker for your incredible act last night into this morning as you stand up for all of us. Thank you for using your voice and the tools you have to make a difference.
So excited to see this bill move forward in the Senate. This issue is one I'm deeply passionate about, and the folks at @gfadp.bsky.social are one of the reasons I ran for office.
The GA Senate is set to vote on HB 123 on Monday! If it passed, the House will vote on whether to adopt the Senate version and send it to the governor’s desk for signature into law. #gapol

GOOD BILL PASSED: SB 170 from @kimforgeorgia.bsky.social requires the Department of Community Health to establish a grant program to fund rural hospitals in purchasing and installing backup generators to ensure continued operation during a state of emergency.

#GaPol senators are really on a roll today. After stripping funding for kids in poverty from the budget, they just stripped ( #HB127) which would increase accumulated leave for teachers to replace it with a broad sweeping DEI Ban #SB120 which would defund schools and universities across the state.
Senate Committee on Education & Youth.... Anti-DEI bill has been shoved in a different bill. This committee hearing is a total shame. Not letting the public talk, limiting Democrat committee members from asking questions..
Passed House committee, now onto House floor 🤞🏻
My beautiful district, with constituents who have faced immeasurable pain from this administration's harmful policies. I will never support such legislation.... and I will ALWAYS speak up for my constituents.
Yesterday, my colleagues decided to honor our current president... a direct slap in the face to my beautifully diverse District 41.
And another Dem bill with HUGE bipartisan support gets blocked from a vote for no discernable reason...
Elizabeth testifies that this is the next step in aiding our aging, veteran, foster, and other communities find housing.
Elizabeth Appley from HouseATL rises to speak in support of this bill
Brian reminds the House Reps that the recommendations from the Study Committee on Homelessness from 2022 specifically addresses the need for the GA General Assembly to form a cohesive response.

Clarifying that all of the statewide departments that will serve on this interagency counsel desire to be part of this process.
