Me, trying to create the ultimate game dev discourse homunculus,

“Baseball is actually a turn-based jRPG with parry-based countering, emergent narrative, and painted lines that tell you where you can roam on the battlefield in which you attempt to kill god*.”

*The hopes and dreams of your fans.
Showing up to an interview:
Lead, “So tell me about this part of your resume here.”

“I cannot.” *stares out the window mysteriously*
All good! I’ve seen both used in context for FromSoft so I thought initially that maybe only the oldheads still used corpse run.
However, I saw a post that might have triggered this post, and I believe “runback” in that context is specifically talking about running back to a boss room from the last bonfire when you die in a FromSoft game rather than specifically to your corpse anywhere in the overworld.
Very common in the original MMO days. EQ popularized the term because your entire inventory dropped on your corpse when you died. So if you didn’t get back to your corpse before it despawned (15 minutes I think), you’d lose all your stuff. UO might have also had this mechanic and I’m misremembering.
I keep thinking one of these games you post will be a game I saw like 3-4 years ago where everything is like shades of blue & it’s maybe focused on water, but it’s very much one of these lonely brutalist megastructure games. It reminded me a lot of Pandora’s Tower when I saw the trailer.
It actually means “Developers’ System” and Nintendo retroactively embraced Dual Screen because everyone kept saying it.
It’s been… idk 20 years since I played FFTA but I remember thinking it was fun for what it was story wise and then the Law system just being like OH SHIT. Those Judges still fill me with rage lol.
As a Braves fan, I am ecstatic that Freeman now has three rings. I also get to claim the Dodgers whenever I want because my grandad pitched like half a spring training game for them in the 60s.
YOU KNOW WE LOVE TO SEE IT.
Did this sell out instantly?
Motoi Sakuraba and Yasunori Mitsuda.
Does this get as out there as Baba Is You? I need to know how frustrated I’m about to be before I pur—oh I’ve slipped and hit checkout oops.
From your keyboard to 6502 Workshop’s ears.
My GOTY for that year tied with Control. The last sequent of OW is one of the most evocative things I’ve ever experienced.
You’ve made me want something I know will never exist.
I stopped playing for several months and having picked it back up and going back over my notes, they are absolute ravings of a mad man. And yet, I was still able to prove myself right on enough occasions that I have convinced myself I’m a genius. (I have still not finished collecting the SKs.)
You only zip your sack up once before you swear off fly usage ever again.
I own over 500 games on Amazon Games. I even have the launcher installed. Notably, I have not purchased a single one of these games & I currently cannot find a way to purchase games via this app, nor can I recall ever seeing a way to do so. I legitimately do not know where I could have bought games.
I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.
Absolutely an unbeatable, all time record.
FREDDIE FREEMAN FUCKIN RULES. (Signed, a Braves fan)
Mookie 1 for 7, not looking great.
Me, praying for 20,
“Get it twisted. If you lock in you can do anything. Motherfucker. Get it twisted. Your actions impact nothing. Your fate is predetermined. The only thing you can change is your reaction to it. You can do anything you set your mind to. The world is a playground designed for you.
