If my numbers are right the Green Party now has more members than The Spectator has readers, and one of those numbers isn't going up ;)

I grabbed the 928 by chance at lunchtime today. I have no idea how it happened. I was buying a sandwich and suddenly the checkout beeped twice.

The hole counts as anti-donut so they effectively cancel each other out.

Wait, you mean I could've been paid to call fascists a bunch of dumb fucks all along instead of doing it in my own time?!

The world is not out to get you. That's paranoid thinking. There are, at most, three to fifteen people out to get you, working day and night on your downfall. Relax.

Looking forward to digging in tonight, and I'm sure I will - cheers! :)

Love that film, absolutely barking :) I haven't seen the narrative get flipped on the 'monster' that quickly before.

Sassy little potato.

Did you just manage to get a Sonic Youth reference AND a large ginger cat's bum into a single post?

Got to feel sorry for the big guy. dodging hunters and hiding from cryptid seekers all day while keeping an eye on your blood sugar? Dude definitely deserves cosy tootsies.

Trying not to leave any indie bookshop empty handed on principle. This is today's exit strategy - Extremophile by Ian Green. Seems to be cyberpunk with the punk multiple-underlined hard in red marker. Right up my street :)
A paperback copy of Extremophile by Ian Green.

Just thinking that - you don't see many of those here at all. I think that one was for sale relatively recently.

Wow. So they're twice as fighty and twice as smart? That'll end well :)

Oz has a track record for this. The list of damaging invasive species introduced is almost funny. Rabbits and cane toads were devastating, but camels and water buffalos too... 'help, we're being swamped by dromedaries!'

Not sure, but I know Scotland has had feral mink on a couple of islands for years. This one was a couple of raids by the ALF in Hampshire, but they did do that style of roundup, yeah.

Fur farms shouldn't exist, but I did wonder if the activists knew what they were unleashing.

In a small area that's never had them natively too. I think around 2500 were recaptured (which I'm not happy about) but I heard that a fair proportion of those found their own way back. Do mustelids have a homing instinct? I'd like to think they put aside their differences and formed a gang :)

We had around 5000 of these cute little mincing machines busted out from a fur farm by activists in the late 90s. Went through the local ecosystem like a chainsaw through candy floss. It was an ecological nightmare, but you have to admire their determination :)

Can't help thinking of Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged sabotaging his own mission because of the pointlessness of it all, yet still unable to bring himself to do something different. Maybe everything would feel pointless with no sense it'd ever reach a conclusion.

Fuck. I need another tea.

That long panelled hallway there is one of the loveliest and creepiest spaces I've been in. I don't know why, as there's nothing overtly weird about it. Just a strange vibe :)
