This agent only asked for query submissions. She liked my query pitch and requested the first 50 pages and a synopsis of the whole story. If she likes what she reads, she will request the entire manuscript. IF SHE LIKES THAT, and thinks she can sell it, we have succeeded baybeee

During my sophomore year in journalism school, I took a feature writing class. On the first day, the professor came in with a box filled with rejection letters he’d received. He told us to expect it; it’s part of the process. Best advice I ever got!

Got three rejections for my short stories this week. I usually handle it by taking a deep breath, remind myself that it's normal, update my excel spreadsheet and search for the next journal to submit to. Rinse and repeat.
