We're considering asking for an application fee of 10 euros next time, with that we could probably found one or even two extra residency spots. Good idea, or should we keep it free?

We got 209 applications for one spot. Looks like comics residencies are in very high demand. Unfortunately we can only host one additional artist this year, but we'll do our best to continue the residency next year.

The open call wasn't only for artists, so drawing skills aren't the number one selection criteria.

Still always good to apply for everything. Even though we can only take one artist, we have discovered so many interesting works, we sure hope to collaborate with others in the future in some form or another.

Rome is amazing, have fun! If you really want to go to a comic store, then probably best to visit RISMA (www.rismabookshop.com/about), the only comic store with a great selection of alternative comics in English.
