5/5 Congratulations to the authors🥳
Martina Pfeiffer, Fiona Cole, Dongfang Wang, YonggangKe and @philiptinnefeld.bsky.social
4/5 How? SEPP is a spring-loaded network of DNA “antijunctions” that flip between states, like tiny molecular switches. We can program them with DNA strands to make logic gates, timed actions, and even cargo release. Basically, tiny robots doing science at 1 billionth the size🤏
3/5 Applications? From smart nanosensors to molecular factories and future therapeutics.
We’re one step closer to computers made of DNA — literally. 🧠🧬
2/5 Think “field-programmable gate array,” but at the nanometer scale — powered by fuel strands instead of electricity.
Meet SEPP: the Serial Execution of Programmable Processes platform for modular, logic-gated nanorobots 🤖

4/4 Huge shout-out to the amazing team🥳:

3/4 MPUs are fully modular🖥️. We built:
✔ All basic Boolean logic gates
✔ Multi-input compact gates
✔ A half adder
✔ Even non-Boolean logic
2/4 🧬💡Molecular Processing Units (MPUs) are integrated on DNA origamis. They switch from transient (0) to stable (1) DNA states via input strand addition. ✨See GIF🔝
1/4 📢🥳now online: BROWNIAN DNA COMPUTING - Unlike fuel-driven molecular computing with high-energy barriers, it exploits thermal fluctuations.
Inputs rectify state access, enabling fast, low-energy computation. 📜More in our preprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
3/3 Congratulations to all the authors for the team work🥳: @renukkayaadav.bsky.social, Kateryna , Mihir, Vivien, Benedikt, Jan, Cindy, Michi, Giovanni, Leonie, Sophia, @glembockyte.bsky.social, Tim Liedl and @philiptinnefeld.bsky.social
2/3 We made a short video📽️that provides a quick summary of the topic.
1/3 🚨🥳New paper out in Advanced Materials!
We bring attomolar, amplification-free DNA detection to the point-of-care using DNA origami nanoantennas.🧬Check it out here: advanced.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
