(clarification: I've known about this since I started working with value added, but this sounds like accounting engineering to ensure GDP growth)

As a person who has previously worked with machines and production processes, value added is still a mistery (despite 8 years in ecological economics academia) and this imputed rent for home owners accounting for value added still sounds very weird to me. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imputed...

I thought the term "grandfathering" was very contraintuitive considering the context of climate mitigation: keeping the distribution of emissions by countries constant. For me, a grandfather is a caring figure.

German Conservatives call for ditching the 2035 phaseout of fossil fuel vehicle sales, arguing that we (will) price CO2 with ETS2, so no other measure is needed

But the minute ETS2 starts in 2027 and makes fuel more expensive, they *will* campaign against it, mark my words

I've worked in climate mitigation scenarios for a year. I don't understand how can I be a functioning human knowing how extremely hard is to reach carbon budgets. And even more impossible with the current everyday reality, policies and public opinion. I must be completely dissociated.

Coal, oil, and gas in China. Dominated by coal. Coal looked to peak in 2014 and decline, but coal is now we higher than the 2014 peak... And still rising...
