Please don’t expound the benefits of child participation while you develop laws & policies without them. An infographic explaining what you should do when you haven’t involved children on the right. The left is for those wanting to do their best to get it right- Lansdown’s 3Cs plus the Lundy Model.

So I’m getting lots of handsome bearded middle aged men posing with puppies. They do seem awfully kind…🤔.

I wrote an article this year about privacy rights for the children of celebrities & am going to start chipping away at a follow-up piece.

If anybody happens upon news stories or social media posts that discuss any interactions between celebrities with their children & press photographers, 1/2

This is such a comprehensive and clear summary of all of the challenges facing women in academia. But so frustrating that, 35 years since I began my career, the problems are still the same: ‘Motherhood penalty’ in particular. ☹️
On THE Campus: Women in academia are promoted at far lower rates than their male peers and are under-represented in senior positions. To fix this, universities will need to embrace systemic change, says Rachael Jefferson @charlessturtuni.bsky.social

One of my all time favourites from a consultation by Barnardo’s Ireland. I am finding it hard to post links here but we have lots of examples in our research reports on our website.

Gutted my flight was cancelled but really enjoyed the panel. You were fabulous, providing a passionate child-focused approach to what you called ‘a tough gig’. 🙌

Great. Glad it was useful. The panel gave Jenna and I lots of food for thought.

Hi @louca-mai.bsky.social . I’ll find out for you. It’s based on a paper 📑 n the Oxford Review (can’t do a link! 😂) & we think it offers a process for (not an answer to) addressing most child rights conflicts so hope you find it useful.

Looking forward to this event tonight in Glasgow. A thorny child rights topic. @jkgillettswan.bsky.social and I have tried to formulate a rights respecting process for addressing the many issues that arise. Interested to hear the perspectives of the different perspectives of the expert panel.

😂

If I had more space I might have added some detail to the ‘no children involved’. Perfectly fine if they choose not to be perhaps because they have said it all before. Maybe the search for existing material should be a pre-requisite on both sides? I was targeting those who don’t bother with either…

Glad you found it useful. 😊

Help! I can't find much research literature on *children's* views about capacity (to consent, be consulted, exercise #rights etc)

There's LOTS on what adults think about it!

We're planning research with CYP on this, and would be very grateful for any pointers to papers - please repost!
Marking the 100th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child with some reflections on the child’s right to participation.

Hearing more about @lucybray9.bsky.social ‘s fabulous work applying child rights standards in health at the Prepare network (promoting play and rights in health) conference in Copenhagen.

Thank you!

Thanks Ali. Finally X-ited from the dark void. 😨 Hoping to find the old child rights & participation community here. ❤️
