This is a terrible time to be old, or sick, or disabled, or retired, or a veteran, or in debt, or just graduating, or an intellectual, or a scientist, or a teacher, or a Librarian, or poor, or living in a red state, or LGBTQ+, or not white, or pregnant, or small business owner, or an immigrant etc

This!
The Speaker, who claims to be a Christian, is more interested in badmouthing Democrats than calling out Republicans guilty of sexual assault or worse.

Q: This has been reported for a while. Cory Mills was accused of beating a girlfriend in his DC apt. Are you concerned about these allegations?

JOHNSON: You have to ask Rep. Mills about that. He's been a faithful colleague. I don't know the details. Let's talk about things that are really serious

I’m old enough to remember when we had a system of checks & balances that involved Congress, when Congress controlled the purse and legislated, and the president respected the Constitution & rule of law. I’m old enough to remember when a U.S. president wouldn’t want to be King George or a dictator.

I am sounding the alarm that the GOP is engaged in an all out attack voting rights and free and fair elections. Voter suppression, gerrymandering, and troops in blue cities are just some of the ways they are using to try to rig the rules to keep power in 2026 and beyond.

Pay attention and act!

The propaganda spewing from Trump's departments and agencies blaming Democrats for the government shutdown is blatantly illegal. We have the Hatch Act for a reason. Some thoughts... https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-trump-regime-is-wildly-violating

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.

And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communities’ water and power.

When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.

It isn't about saving money.
It's always been about sabotaging the government.

On the Charlie Kirk show, Vought said federal firings could hit “north of 10,000” during the shutdown.

Companies lay people off to survive. This is different. He sounded like he’s enjoying the chance to fast-track his agenda. This isn’t about saving money, it’s about sabotaging the government.

He's wearing his clown tie today?
laurelbgood.bsky.social
Exactly! He's hogged the stage, elbowed out other younger, natural leaders who are less caustic and stayed way past his welcome in Democratic circles.
Yes, he has good ideas, but he always delivers them like a grumpy grampa, with finger wagging and doom.

Bernie has been "place holding" for at least a decade. It's time for him to bow out like other leaders before him. Gore, Biden, Clinton, etc. aren't in our faces every week!

Check it out!

From the vault: Mike Johnson said he’d take a blowtorch to the ACA.

Here’s the thing… 45% of marketplace enrollees are Republicans. Cool! So he’s threatening to burn the GOP’s own base. 🔥

Can we please stop asking/platforming Bernie now?
I'm old and Bernie is even older than me! The Democrats have plenty of smart, young leaders.
Buttigieg, Harris, Jena Griswold, Ossoff, Warnock, etc.
Let them speak up for our future now, or we won't have a future!

If Johnson had any integrity, he would've censured the abusive Mills and removed him from the House. He's so scared of losing power that he ignores the abuse and crimes of his party. Including trump's crimes against his oath.

Congress should not be paid for not doing their job. Most of trump's admin doesn't need the salary for their position because they're already million/billionaires. Meanwhile, the economy has gone to pot.

Boom! Who’s winning the shutdown debate? THE ACA.

More Republicans than Democrats use the ACA marketplace. So the GOP’s base is relying on the same program their party is causing premiums to skyrocket.

45% of ACA marketplace enrollees are Republicans, and most live in GOP-held districts.

It's been 22 days since Adelita Grijalva was elected by the people of Arizona's seventh congressional district to represent them in Congress.

Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in. At what point will political reporters start calling this a constitutional crisis?

The fact there’s a man in our White House who constantly expresses his hatred for half of the country and makes clear his desire to strip away programs supported by Democrats should tell millions & millions why they need to be a part of the No Kings protest if they still believe in America.
