I wrote a book about art and fucking and BDSM and falling in love, Art reflects life and in this sadomasochistic relationship every romance is an act of creation

The cover of my book, the title 'Anonymous Nude Photos' written in all lowercase letters in soft pink. The cover is of a woman's back, dressed in layers of ivory and pale white lingerie, tied into it with nude jute rope, wrapped in it tightly, the rope and the corset laces tangled together. She reaches back and unhooks her bra...

This point about white collar workers not respecting the stakes because they've never experienced them is a really good one.

I think they do this to test market tolerance, to crate the impressions users are driving development and tech when in fact they are not. It's like an optical illusion.
laurenjane.bsky.social
( shipped sort of means "done" or deployed & released means "made available to users" )

I think they actually have one like super shipped product that can do everything in all versions + more and what they do is throttle that into smaller version for release
laurenjane.bsky.social
So for example in '23 they released 4.0 which has 'advanced reasoning', in '24 they released a mini.04 which was "smarter", in early '25 they released 4.5 which was "more nuanced"

They are marketing these as progressive developments based on feedback
laurenjane.bsky.social
So based on nothing but vibes I'm fairly confident what they actually have is a much more advanced version - like a version 10 - already shipped and they're releasing throttled versions with increasing or decreasing complexity based on how the market responds

Can you describe what you think people are afraid of and how those fears differ rationally from known information about repeated covid infections?
laurenjane.bsky.social
You're so right. Theory of mind is necessary for our ability to live and work in community with each other, but it also means we are very easily manipulated by this technology

However. I love the work we made together and I'm thinking I might re-release it ( with their blessing of course). I also have a third and final storyboard for an "at the party" id love to fim.

When we make work again I'll be sure to let everyone know 🖤🖤

We spent a lot of time working to get the stolen stuff of my self and other people taken down where it was trackable. This was time consuming and not free ( & a mind fuck working to protect the same people I hold directly responsible for this trauma and will never know I did it )

Firsrly, thank you! those films mean so much to me.

Sadly all my partners and my content was scraped for revenge porn sites after a call out was co-opted by the alt right. to make sure content they/we made with others was safe from this we nuked everything
An anonymous question, reading:

Do you still offer any vids for sale?... ( Love the "at the party" vids )
laurenjane.bsky.social
...i don't know I haven't really thought about it? I mostly follow back people who interact with me regularly, if I'm not following you and I'm missing out let me know!
An anonymous question, reading:

Why don't you follow back?

It doesn't 'lie' 'admit' or 'confess'

Reading Miss Majors Speaks was an incredibly moving experience last year. I can't recommend this book enough for those unfamiliar with her work.

Rest in peace 🖤

So often we can not think of how to fight back, how to recentre our humanity without the same tactics and ideologies that harm and polarize us, I'm working on how to think this out differently.
laurenjane.bsky.social
Kindness as resistance is a thing I'm working on and thinking over a lot right now - kindness can't mean we don't take sides or stand up for what is right or protect what needs to be protected.

If I were to listen to an audiobook it wouldn't count for me, I don't remember them as well and I miss a lot. That would be true for others and reading a book - I don't see value in pretending it's all the same. It's that we are all different that makes it cool!

I can see it ... But only because of luck

Weird.

I don't know, I have read some things about reading comprehension among teens & it makes me think we should lean into "graduate being able to read one whole book" - not give it up as a lost cause? Long form reading is a key skill for building knowledge - a skill we really need young people to have
laurenjane.bsky.social
Both do, it's true. I love a good long novel - but really like, Mission Earth is 1 million words, let's not pretend length is some kind of objective measure of value.
laurenjane.bsky.social
Listening to an audiobook isn't the same as reading a book - they are different cognitive process and it's reductive to pretend they are the same

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat
laurenjane.bsky.social
(and it's not important because reading is objectively important, it's a skill I use all the time when looking at,say, a political narrative and thinking "this is bullshit and I know it because I can connect it to a previous event")

Hill ill die on for no reason at all and is only loosely related to this post:

Short stories are the most challenging form of literature.

I will say though, analyzing long form and developing narratives - like a novel - is a really important skill and not nearly enough people have it.
