I took a total break from BlueSky.
Back and hoping to reconnect with photographers/artists/lovers of churches/windows/postboxes/trees/flowers/music/beautiful things/those who run themes/challenges & those with a great sense of humour.

Looking down on the spire of St Just in Roseland and towards the tidal creek that the 13th century church sits alongside.
To the left are acanthus flowers which grow well in Cornwall. The gardens are planted with semitropical shrubs and trees. There are boats alongside the creek and the hills of the Roseland Peninsular in the distance.

Extract from

An Evening Walk by William Wordsworth.

Where peace to Grasmere’s lonely island leads,
The willowy hedge-rows, and to emerald meads;

Lake reflections in Grasmere of the surrounding fells and the island.

A mirror reflection in autumn of the fells, land and sky in the lake at Grasmere.
Wordsworth quotes about Grasmere include,
“The loveliest spot that man hath ever found.”

In the foreground the ground is covered with fallen leaves.A brook runs down the centre of my photo reflecting the colourful trees and the sky. A variety of trees are turning to their autumnal colours with a flash of red from an acer in the distance. Glimpses of blue sky can be seen through the branches.

On the left of my photo is a hedge,3 lantern lamps, the corner of The Falkland Arms inn, a colourful hanging basket and a parasol in a picnic bench with a menu.The village is built of honey coloured Cotswold Stone, some with stone roofs and chimneys, a few can be seen in this photo. In the middle a lane leads past, on the right, a yew tree, a well, a black metal gate, another lamp and a cottage with tiny leaded light windows.

I wonder if something similar happens in other countries.

Weekend retreat of Margaret Grenville, one of the most popular socialites in the Edwardian Era. The interior of the house was designed to impress and as a place to entertain. It was the place to go to parties and for weekend stays. This is a part of the Gold Room built to entertain royalty.

The lake at Winkworth Arboretum on Monday with golden trees reflected in the lake along with the clear blue sky. Hidden amongst the trees in the distance is the boathouse. In the foreground a bright green slope leads down to the lake. I had to be careful not to slip down this when taking the photo!
Trees in the shade frame my photo.
