While a lot of the core issues in the industry is rooted in capitalism and the turn of art into content slop, I’m just not a fan of people shrugging and playing the rat race, ESPECIALLY people that are established artists. It’s that complacency that makes issues worse.

Boo hoo my jib jab didn’t make the masses smile
leslekieuart.bsky.social
Any time an artist just shrugs and says “that’s just the way things work” when someone points out a problem with the industry makes me so mad. It’s that sentiment that leads to complacency AND makes you look spineless lol
leslekieuart.bsky.social
It just gives the absolutely worst impression ever lol

It just seems like the laziest excuse to play with a glorified jib jab. I understand wanting to learn how the models work to be better informed, but why would you post it and then fight tooth and nail to justify your use to randos
leslekieuart.bsky.social
Saw some artist on instagram training an ai model off of their art and they kept replying to comments that you gotta adapt or die and I can’t help but wonder why would you serve your free replacement on a silver platter like that

#SaveSpeech

I want to remind people that when there is a call to action to "contact your reps", it needs to be more than once

Going forward, contacting your reps needs to become part of your routine, at the very least during the work week.

Sustained pressure over time is what matters!

I also live in a house that's like that right now and have lamps of my own, but the number of big lamps that are all different and all on at the same time no matter what time of day in the show is very jarring once we noticed. There was even an scene that revolved around an elvis shaped lamp
leslekieuart.bsky.social
they did a pan around the room and there were 2 more lamps
leslekieuart.bsky.social
not just that, but they are almost all different lamps. There's only identical set of lamps and they're framing the way between the living room and dining room. What the hell.

Watching Grimm with some friends and I noticed there were a ton of lamps in this one scene and ever since we keep seeing there's like a million different lamps in every single set like why is there like 7 lamps in this one shot
Screenshot of the show Grimm. There's 6 lamps turned on in the fore ground and there's another lamp that's turned off next to the one woman in frame.

I’m playing it now for some friends and supposedly I play it in an insane way
leslekieuart.bsky.social
I’ve never played Skyrim before because the one time I was going to my aunt was watching me play and the moment the person got beheaded in the beginning she turned the game off and said I wasn’t allowed to play it
