Huge violent demonstration in Lincoln Park today. Better send the National Guard, with artillery.
This is ridiculous.
I'm gonna go get a whiskey. Duke of Perth is nearby.

Ron Johnson must be grateful every day that Tommy Tooooobervillageidiot got elected, because it means Ron's not The Dumbest Senator anymore.

But if they get behind cars...
What?

You got a problem with drinking whiskey?

Saw it on an auto insurance billboard. Flinched every time I drove by.

My wife and I had a delicious meal of olives, bread, and fresh ricotta at a highway rest stop in Italy, simply served on sheets and cones of butcher paper. There are small blossoms everywhere.

BIG fan of Gold Rush ciders. One of our locals does a semi-dry that's delicious on a day like this...
Hmmmm. BRB.

Saw those at Wegmans. Haven't had them.

Well...I like Honeycrisps better than the Cosmics, so... Yes.
lewbryson.bsky.social
Well, that's the eternal question, right?
It's more tart. I hesitate to compare on crispness, because 1)Honeycrisps vary, and 2)I've only had two of these, from one orchard.
But those two were nicely crisp crunchy. Good eating apple.

Got this Freedom apple at a local orchard (western Union County, PA). Never had them before, got 8 good-sized apples for 2 bucks, how can I pass that up?
And they're delicious! Local for the win again!

Seen this idea many times, WHY ISN'T IT HAPPENING?

Oh my God, from the depths of my no-longer-an-editor-just-a-writer heart, YES, THIS.
It's true, it's true, it's so true.

My wife and I went over the mountain to the 20th annual Mifflinburg Oktoberfest today. Beer (Paulaner, Hofbrau, and Hacker-Pschorr festbiers on tap, along with the local Rusty Rail Brewing), food, music, and wonderful people having a great time.
Go to local events! Day drink! Enjoy October!
My brown/sage Mifflinburg Oktoberfest ceramic mug! You can't see it from this angle, but it's full of draft Hofbräuhaus Oktoberfest beer. My wife Cathy went day drinking with me. We're at a picnic table at the Mifflinburg Oktoberfest, with a cup of sauerkraut chowder, and two sausage sandwiches, a Thüringer and a Guylai smoked Hungarian, both with kraut and mustard. Great lunch! Great companion!

Agreed! We were in Lock Haven, PA, and not only did a lot of people show up, the local cops were extremely supportive, or at least supportive of our rights. Good sign!

Pretty sure it was Limbaugh. It pleases me that he's been so forgotten.

Last week my local brewpub served a delicious paw paw creme brulee, made with foraged fruit.
Tonight we dined on pizza topped with chicken of the woods mushrooms, also foraged.
Both came from less than 2 miles away. Life is good in small towns.
