Yeah and most people fighting this war had no idea what it was about anyway. War was just a normal part of life. In many ways it was a expected right of passage for young men, you're raised to know those guys over there with the funny accents are bad so go off to war.

And of course the European attitude towards war was so normalized, that there was a Peace movement in the 1800's. Peaceful coexistence was a RADICAL IDEA. Because War was just a part of normal life. If you disagree with another nation, you fight them.

That attitude didn't really change until WW1.

My dad got a fucking cringe as fuck Gen X shirt and its 100% has a fucking Nazi dogwhistle symbol on it and he is 100% too ignorant to know its there.

But its just plausible deniable enough that I know if I tell him he will blow it off.

They must be hoping Payday 3 bounces back and has a No Mans Sky comback story, but years in and they haven't fixed any of the games problems, just churned out $140 of DLC nobody is buying except the most delusional players.

Now Payday 3 is absolute dog ass and they had to keep making Payday 2 DLC forever just to keep the lights on. (And their parent company Starbreeze did go bankrupt after both the Walking Dead fiasco and Raid WW2 being a massive flop.)

I have to wonder whats the long term plan here.

But like, that Walking Dead game of theirs was in development hell for years.

And when they released the game, it was so bad that within like 2 days, Skybound not only made them delist the game, but cancelled the console ports and revoked their liscense to the Walking Dead IP.

The way they sell Payday 2 now is attrocious btw. They just added a fucking subscription service for it so you can rent all the dlc.

They also stopped putting the legacy bundle on sale for its old price so its way more expensive just to get legacy when it used to cost like, 10 bucks to get it all.

The fact that Overkill Software is still in business is fascinating.

This company has managed to milk Payday 2 for 12 years and continue to milk it even though Payday 3 is out.

So when people are out there slapping the word "Addiction" onto porn, they are absolutely referring to porn as though it has the same addictive properties of Crystal Meth like it will rot you, not someone forming a unhealthy obsession as they might form with any escapist media like Video Games or TV

Things that don't have tangible addictive properties on their own merits aren't labeled as potentially addictive because someone might form a unhealthy relationship with that thing, even with mind-altering substances! They are expressly labeled and touted as "Non-addictive" or "not habit forming"

Its kind of semantics though, you can become psychologically addicted to literally anything.

By singling out "porn addiction" it paints a target on porn, people who create porn and people who consume porn.

The word "addiction" invites too much societal stigma to be fairly applied.

tbf, Tron is a utterly bizarre thing to have even become a franchise.

The original movie did poorly in theaters, reviewed poorly, did not do well in home video, not a cult classic.

It had a weird cultural relevance of everyone looking back going "That was fucking weird... interesting vfx tho"
