the games industry, if it wants to actually be healthy long term does need fortnite to continue to grow exponentially until the heat death of universe

it needs a bunch of cool people who just want to create art to make a sustainable living and be happy with that

went to a summit last week and there was a lot of corpo talk of "right sizing" post-pandemic

as awful as that phrase for "laying off artists" is, there may be a nugget of truth in there, we just need to scrape out those at the top who thought games would be infinite growth "investments"

game developers of all stripes are ultimately artists, and artists NEED to create

the budget, the size of the audience, and how much billionaires want something to be created isn't the biggest limiting factor for cool art, it's the accessibility of tools, opportunities and platforms for weirdos

I do think I am going to beat NG+ of Silent Hill f but will probably bump down the combat difficulty for the second playthrough because I genuinely think it gets way worse as they add new mechanics to it (especially in the Otherworld).
