My friend @bloodshot.dev put it pretty succinctly imo. Hades 1 feels like the sequel to Hades 2, rather than the other way around.

Considering how tight and rewarding every aspect of Supergiant combat usually is I cannot get over how unfun the enemy that heals 100hp for every 10hp damaged is.

Like sometimes you will just end up with a solid build that is fucked in this fight.

The really fucked up thing about the controller that Nintendo sells is that they knew you'd need a shoulder button to navigate certain menus on Swoth and suspend the NSO app, but they only added one do it's not like I can use this as a Saturn controller with an emulator.

I bought this 6-button Mega Drive controller while in Japan and only realized afterwards that...
1. there are basically no games that take advantage of it on Switch.
2. Even if there were it's not like I am suddenly going to get into a bunch of fighting games.

Ultimately, unless you're in the 1% of games media that got deeply engrained in the late 2000s OR you are unbelievably lucky AND befriend the right people early on, working in games media is a gig reserved for chronically stubborn, exhausted and exploited delusional idiots... Like me.
