At the NTNT, they reaffirmed the strong relationship between both navies & discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The two navies also signed the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

1️⃣President Trump is a big disappointment with regard to his stance on Putin, & the war in Ukraine. Grateful the chicken-hawks have not done more harm.

2️⃣As Singaporeans, we will work with the Koreans, the Australians, & the Japanese to condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine.

I don’t understand why President Trump is referring to NATO — as a 3rd party, as if the U.S. is not a member. I suspect this is Trump washing his hands from the war in Ukraine — happy to keep making profits for the U.S. arms industry without understanding the meaning of being an ally.

3️⃣There are brainwashed Muslims in Southeast Asia who support Hamas, but there are also sensible Muslims (in Indonesia & Singapore), who think that:

(a) Hamas is a front for Iran; &

(b) support for terrorist attacks, on civilians is wrong & not Islamic.

A Malaysian got angry that we in Singapore know that they will never embrace Israel (due to 40+ years of brainwashing by the Malaysian Govt). The people in Malaysia are trained to hate that the state of Israel exists.

2️⃣The U.S. has to manage its relations with the Malaysian Govt under PM Anwar, due to the public’s strong support for Hamas & Iran. This way, the TLDM can keep attending RIMPAC, & U.S. carriers can call on Malaysian ports.

1️⃣While the Malaysian Govt has done little to keep citizens of Australia, UK, & NZ, safe from Iran’s proxy groups, Australia has shown resolve against the regime in Iran by:

(a) expelling its ambassador & shutting down the embassy; &

(b) labelling the IRGC as a terror org.

3️⃣The RSAF’s Airbus A330MRTT & 4 AH-64D Apaches have arrived in Queensland, with a few more helicopters (eg. CH-47Fs) to follow.

4️⃣Each year between 450 to 550 tanks, armoured vehicles, HIMARS, command vehicles, & radar systems from Singapore are deployed for Ex Wallaby.

1️⃣Grateful that the RAAF will be hosting an extended F-16V detachment from the RSAF over the period of 25 Sep to 10 Oct 2025.

2️⃣The RSAF fighter detachment is in RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook, Western Australia to support the annual Ex Wallaby 2025.

Due to geopolitical uncertainty, Singapore is acquiring 3 new vessel classes that include:

(a) four ~2,200 ton OPV90 Mk IIs (94.9m in length); &

(b) six 8,000 ton MRCVs (expected to be ~150m in length),

along with the upcoming LPD replacements, thereafter before 2040.

Geopolitically, the U.S. can’t contain the PLA(N) in the 2 island chains or defend Taiwan, without support from allies (eg. Australia & Japan) & partners (eg. Indonesia & Singapore).

Singapore has U-218SGs still at TKMS, namely, Illustrious (launched 13 Dec 2022), & Inimitable (launched 22 Apr 2024).

Illustrious was launched on 13 Dec 2022.

An order with TKMS has been placed in May 2025 for the RSN’s boat 5 & boat 6.

3️⃣Concurrent with the bilateral army exercise, Singapore also deployed RSS Supreme (with a SH-70B), RSS Vigilance, MV Mentor, 2 Fokker 50 MPAs, & 2 F-15SGs to enhance realism, for the exercise with INS Satpura (a Shivalik-class frigate) in the South China Sea.

..Mechanised Brigade & 1st Mechanised Infantry (I MADRAS) from the Indian Army. This joint foreign training exercise with the 42nd SAR of Singapore Army & the Bogra Brigade of the Indian Army aimed to develop jointness under an UN mandate for operations.

3️⃣Currently, Singapore maintains a 3 officer defence attaché office in Thailand. In support of the ASEAN Monitoring Group, the SAF has also flown-in Col. Low Teck Loong, the Singapore Defence Attaché to Cambodia (normally resident in Vietnam), to support the Malaysian efforts.

..conflict are willing to move forward. With only 7 members currently, the Malaysian led monitoring team is under-resourced & needs to grow to 33 personnel to function. Gen. Mohd Nizam Jaffar also said the team would be stationed in Cambodia & Thailand.
